Basic to Advanced NX6 Modeling,
Drafting and Assemblies is the newly revised version of our previous
CAD training textbooks. We have greatly expanded the content,
detail, and exercises included in this edition.
Topics include: Synchronous and Master Modeling; Fundamental and
Intermediate Curves; Editing Entities; Design, Reference, Surface
and Detail Features; Sheet Metal Features; and Injection-Molded
Parts and Castings.
Using NX6 is like playing a piano. In the same way that chords
are as important as individual notes, NX commands are far more
powerful when used in concert with others. Our book makes an effort
to show not only the details of the most important commands, but
the powerful combinations that we have used to bring about excellent
designs.
This manual teaches you the basic modeling, assemblies, and drafting
functionality of NX6.

has over 22 years of experience in developing and using high-end
CAD tools and mentoring its users. During a ten-year career at
Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, he implemented advanced CAD/CAM
technology in a design and manufacturing environment. He has trained
thousands of engineers in Unigraphics, written self-paced courses
in UG Advanced Modeling and Best Practices, and performed design
work for numerous Fortune 500 companies.
Anuranjini Pragada, Industrial Design Lead at
DV, has over 10 years' experience in the design field. She has
been a major contributor to a vast array of products from automotive
to medical to consumer electronics. She is an experienced user
of Unigraphics NX as well as other CAD software, including Pro/E
and SolidWorks. She specializes in creative uses of computer aided
design and modeling.
Eric Weeks, Senior Engineer,
has over 10 years of mechanical design and product development
engineering experience at DV, Johnson & Johnson, and Medtronic.
He has developed products using Unigraphics and Pro/ENGINEER.
He has trained engineers in UGNX CAD and Teamcenter Engineering
PLM. Eric is co-author of Teamcenter Engineering PLM publications
and co-inventor on pending U.S. Patents.
Benjamin Stevenson, is a Senior Engineer at
Design Visionaries. He earned his BSE (Honors) Product Design
from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland in 2006.
He has been instrumental in creating complex design models of
difficult Earth Moving equipment and numerous other geometries.
He has also served as an NX5 expert trainer and has extremely
satisfied customers as far afield as Japan, the U. S. and Mexico.
